Question A better way to edit posts

I was wondering if you guys think this would be a cool hack to have. You can either vote or post your opinon, or both

One of the things that drives me crazy about the new vB software is how vB assumes that when you want to edit a post that it automatically slips into quick edit mode. If you really wanted the full edit mode, then you have to click 'go advanced'. I was thinking that it would be nicer if when you clicked on edit, that a drop down menu appeared, and you could choose quick or advanced straight from there. So what do you think, should I work on this hack?

I think edit should just take you to the advanced editor by default.

That said, a dropdown would be better than automatically finding yourself in the quickeditor.

IMO, of course.

**** I should vote yes, but I am really hungary right now... :p

Yeah I totally agree with you G_man. I was a little disapointed at vB pushing the quick edit on us like that That said I'm sure there's some that like the quick edit version so I thought this might be a nice compromise

You can also click twice on Edit Post (not doubleclick), then it goes into adv. editor.

I don't see how having a drop down menu would be an improvement - you have to click on edit, then click on a choice, then click on ok (3 clicks) - the normal way is click on edit then click on advanced or edit (2 clicks).

Do you know how (or where) to reverse this?

One click for advanced, two for quick? I'm sure something must control it..

Lightbulb

Not all skins would accommodate an additional button. With the drop down version no additional real estate is needed.
