*scratches head*

So just what is going on with vBH... seriously.

When I first joined there were a couple of threads saying how vBH is sooo much better than vb.org. Well, you're practically the same from what I can see.

Both sites have some certain people with the city of atlantis crammed up their rear ends, who seem to live just to find ways to win all arguments and insult others.
Both sites have a ton of staff and a lot of promises but nothing actually seems to change.
Both sites' staff seem to be confused over the responsiblities that are generally accepted (on civilised sites anyway) to come with the role, such as stopping fights and problems rather than joining in with them (actually vb.org seems to doing a lot better on this than vBH at the moment).

Look, I know full well that people run these sites voluntarily, and I know that other things come up, and all that... but here's the thing... by the very nature both sites are plentiful in coders, coders who specialise in this very software... and yet there seems to be a distinct lack of organisation and things getting done, and some of the staff spend more time getting involved in arguments than actually doing any staffing.

Why make a website if it's pretty much left to run itself? You are slowly turning into the place vb.org turned into just a few months ago.

And this isn't a temporary thing, it's been going on for quite a while. People are going to notice and it may well be the reason that there are only a few regular posters here.

I just wish either vBH or vb.org got themselves sorted so we could all get settled and concentrate more on helping each other out, than trying to read the 300 page manual that comes with "how to use our mod database" and trying to pick the useful info out of the pointless fights.

i feel sad you came to feel this way, but i'm sure soon enough (as soon as new owner will be here) things will be much better, especially on everything involved with coding projects & our dev team.

true, recently we had a lot of staff changes around here and many staff members became quite inactive during the last month due to some unknown reasons. i won't make any excuses regarding why things are not "ticking" the way they should have, but i can say that we are currently doing eveything required to correct things & make sure we have active community of coders rather than letting this website become another vb.org website.

one last thing i wanted to point out, like you mentioned indeed already, please remember everyone here run this site voluntarily, and do have real life work & matters, so sometimes not all staff members can give 100%, though we try our best.

greets.

its hard to help everyone out when you have staff people who call members idiots and telling them they have no place to talk/reply to threads...

And its pretty rough trying to give advice and/or help for someone on two forums for basically the same people over and over again, the whole idea of having vB.org and another forum to visit to get hacks and support just doesnt fly. If the sheer number of ownership changes doesnt start to give a clue, i'm not sure what will. Sure you'll have the disgruntled vB.org coders here releasing their work, but soon as you realize its only to promote them selves, their sites, and their services and to grow a even larger eHead the better off your site will be.

Either way Good luck with the site.

You are right on one thing he should have chosen his words more carefully, but for the rest all I see is you going into discussion with him over a service he's offering outside of his activities on the board, and those he has a right to defend them as any other member on this board.

And for your information there are hosts/resellers that offer these kind of services, and yes unlimited doesn't exist, but I have been on hosts where it's pretty much inpossible to pass the limits they have (so you could call them unlimited) or do you know any "normal" sites that need more then 1gb diskspace, a bandwith of 10gb together with some nice, fast lines?

The same bug has gone unfixed for weeks now, and anyone who dares to report it gets their thread closed ......

I'm going to write this outside-viewer rather than addressing any one person.

See that's one of the things putting people (well, me at any rate. I'm guessing others too) off coming here. This bad attitude that's adopted by some people.

Senna said: all I see is you going into discussion with him
ntfu2 said: i dont recall attacking him
And now ntfu2 has his sig changed to vbulletin.org. Okay, that'll help.

It's this instant defend attitude. Senna said one thing and asked a personally reasonable question, ntfu2 decided to read another and huff and sigh. How is anything going to get resolved with assumptions galore and fingers on the big red button of attack?
People aren't saying "hmm, I have a different view, maybe I misunderstood something, why don't you tell me your side and we'll find out where the problem is", people are saying "I don't really care about your viewpoint because I've already decided you're an idiot".

It makes for a great atmosphere, really.

The really funny thing is pretty much everyone here is an admin and admins are supposed to be the maturist of the mature, rising above all insults and thinking ahead for the best of the community as a whole, rather than their own agenda. It's really quite amusing. Mind, it does give a nice list of who's forums not to become a part of.

And I agree with Paul, instead of tackling the problem of over-inflated egos who think they're better than everyone else, threads just get closed until the next one starts up, repeat until the only people left are newcomers in need of help and regulars who bicker over their pride.
