feedback about torrent request thread closure

There are plenty of uses for bittorrent technology that doesn't breach any copyright. It's used to throw 4 gig linux isos around for most distros, for example.
I'm not challenging the closure, it's not my thread and it's not my place to do so. I'm challenging the reason given for the closure.
Though bittorrent is often used for warez (what p2p/file transfer protocol isn't?) it's not always used for such
