Lightbulb Addition to the marketplace
Reason: Feature suggestions

Would be great if there was a place in the Marketplace where people could advertise and sell their vB licenses ;)

Thats a nice idea. Lets see what Rex has to say, we might have to contact Jelfsoft to find out the exact requirements for this. We will look into this.

Wink

We see so many people on the net asking if anyone wants to sell their vB license, or where they can find a 'used' vB license. Would be great if we could send them all to one central place - here at vBH ;)

I agree, just thinking how I could do this logistically.

What is the big advantage for the buyer in this?

Lightbulb

Well for one thing they wouldn't have to hunt all over the net to find a used license for sale. They could shop for one in one central location. Also, if they used Moneybookers as their method of payment, then they wouldn't have to worry about being scammed or fraud. Paypal cannot offer this level of buyer protection. From what I understand a lot of people try to buy a used license - only to find out that they purchased thin air. vB does not protect against this. Paying through Moneybookers does. In fact using Moneybookers also protects the seller

You can have the license# checked by vBulletin if I'm not mistaking. See if its still valid, how long it'll last and what type it is. I remember reading something like that on vb.com about 2 years ago, might no longer be valid though.

Unfortunately that doesn't protect a person from being scammed. They can still sell the same license to several people. This happens a lot on e-bay. PayPal can't protect you from this either. The only way to avoid being scammed with a used license is to use an escrow service like Moneybookers. It will take a few days to complete the transaction, but your money will be fully protected and you can't get scammed ;)

yes, but you could say you have to have 25 posts before you can sell a license. That way more secure, Plus PayPal is more secure ...
