Post vB file upload problem

Hello and thanks for having me here at your fine site.
I was directed here by a friend that said you all were good with vBulletin and related problems and I thought perhaps someone could help with a problem I have with my site.

I have had a vBulletin forum running fine for 6 months now and all of a sudden we are having problems uploading files.
When we attempt to attach a file is gives us a small error message in the window saying, (ie) : u3_12446.rar: "Upload of file failed."
It will however allow uploads of any files with accepted extensions 5kb and smaller. Once the file is larger than 5kb, it fails everytime.

Now we are not new at this and have extensions sizes set to allow larger files (500kb) and all extensions are enabled. Like I said we have changed nothing and out of the blue this starts failing.

I have run diagnostics on the site and it shows this...........

Pertinent PHP Settings

file_uploads: On
open_basedir: /home/eagle01:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp
safe_mode: Off
upload_tmp_dir: None
upload_max_filesize: 6.00 MB

Results
No file uploaded and no local file found. The test cannot continue.

Also our server settings are as follows................

Server Type Linux
Web Server Apache v1.3.37
PHP 4.4.4
PHP Max Post Size 8.00 MB
PHP Maximum Upload Size 6.00 MB
PHP Memory Limit None
MySQL Version 4.1.21-standard
MySQL Packet Size 8.00 MB

I did a search here at the site before posting for help and didnt find anything. I have tried everything I know but cant seem to put a finger on what is causing this sudden failure and what to do about fixing it.

If anyone here has any ideas or is familiar with this problem or could help direct me to somewhere for further help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any replies or help you may have to offer.

Regards,
momo

i know nothing of your problem.... but if it was me i would check my database first, and see if something got corrupted or messed up.

maybe the table is full.... heh but seriously, check your DB...im not saying you will find/fix the problem this way.... but it wont hurt to check
check all the tables relating to uploads and attachments.

This never helps nut anyway: go into ACP > maintenance > Repair / Optimize Tables > Do them all > check for errors > see if it helps.

Thanks for your reply BigJohnny!
I checked all tables with regards to attachments and actually ran check and repair on all tables.
I also did a check and repair on the database. Everything came back fine.

After trying again to upload I am still recieving "upload failed" message........

Still tryin to figure this strange one out?!?!?

momo

Try reuploading all of your scripts in ASCII mode.

rogersnm, thanks again.
I am a little uncertain how to go about "reuploading all my scripts".
I am not 100% sure exactly what you are referring to. If I understand you correctly should I be reuploading everything but the image files?
I am confused, would you be able to give direction and a little more explanation on what I should be doing here. I dont wanna misunderstand you and screw something up.

Thanx
