Default Tiny Problem in Vb2.2.9

Hi guys,

i have a problem in VB2.2.9

Im trying to write forum "title" and its too long, and for this reason, vbb cuts whatever is beyond the limit.. same in forum description, and category.

how can i change the limit? please help, its very important.

It requires database editing, which could possibly hinder you chances of a smooth upgrade to vB3 if you decide to ever do so.

Are you saying when you try to make a forum title it won't let you due to x amount of chars?

Yes, the default is 100. Look inside the install.php of any 2.x version and you'll see.

Actually its pretty simple.

IF you have phpmyadmin -

Login to phpmyadmin and select the database in the left hand nav bar.
Scroll down and select forum.

In the main menu you'll see a bunch of columns hit the little pencil and paper icon across from title

Change length/values to whatever number you need and hit save.

This will alter to allow for longer titles - there are some images of my phpmyadmin of what to do (its crude due to i just wipped those up)

Please be aware this is written just off the top of my head if any errors happen I am NOT at fault :p Just post a reply and I'll see what I can do

i can help you with that...
you just change the "Type" to Text
thats what i did and its working...
if it doesnt work reply....and illl try to edit it 4 you
