But when you plan on using the database to grab information, you will not be able to unless global.php is being called properly. So using something like.

You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Will not work, unless global.php is being called within the php file. If you attempt to copy your global.php file to that directory, I can tell you ahead of time that it will not work as the global.php file calls on other files that call other files, ect..

But if you just trying to integrate the style, then what your doing now should/will work just fine.

where should I put that code to see if it works? the php file or the template?
Seems to be working ok when I add it to the template but when I add it to the php file I get an error.

www.digitalgamerz.com/test/testpage.php
www.digitalgamerz.com/test/testpage2.php

This brings me to another question.. how do I make it so the navbar, the login/logout, navigation folders and the contact us, admin and other links point to the right place in folders outside of the forum directory?

Its from the code you gave me on the other page

except I changed

to

the other link has that welcome message in the php, but I guess that only works if you add it to the template.

notice how the links don't go to the right place though?

Okay so you are calling the global.php file. Then you can use the database in the future to call things. The reasons your links don't work is simple. In the navbar template you have to use full URLS. Right now there like this.

You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Now they have to be changed to

You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Remember, your outside of the forum directory.

yeah, I was just hoping there was some better/faster/easier way to change the links.

How do I handle things like:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
or the login/logout stuff, the menus that pull down (search/quick links), etc?
