Default Templates losing css

Whenever i update a template like say add a link into my footer, then save template .My forum seems to lose its css no background, header bars nothing everything goes just text only.I have tried repairing optimising the template tables, saving css as file not saving it as a file but nothing works..Then in about 5 hours its back to normal...This happens for evryone and not just me so not a corrupt cache either...Any ideas...Asked at vb.com.Server issue they said!!! But whats that mean...Take a look now as its happened again!!

That can indeed be a server issue. Do you have any modifications installed that effect styles or templates?
