my template is limited to 755pixels
and sometimes, when things are posted in code, my whole forum streches out, from the beginning to the end of the post but not header and footer, can I do something about that?

yeah:

go into Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Your Style > StyleVars > Code Block Width (pixels) and change to your desired size hope that helps.
