What do i have to add to a plugin to make anything in ** change colours? so it would be like *{param}*?

That's a preg_replace job isn't it? str_replace is when you know exactly what you're replacing.

yeah well i am pretty much the same... it could be preg replace. i would use bbcode but then i would have to put[*][/*]

Just make it a replacement variable in the skin you want it in.
