Be abit harder to get spidered if you didn't. I see it like this. They say 'hey i'll add 100's of links to your website on my search engine, but you would have to ad a small ad on your site. The longer the better'.

Nothin at all we have meta tags thats about it but a LOT of people link to us which is probably why

get yourself on zeal (http://www.zeal.com/) they are very fussy tho and only non profit sites can get on it, if you are profit making then looksmart.com is the alternative but you have to pay to submit to that 1.

Both of these are used by AOL search, MSN, Google etc
