Default question about vBadvanced

Wow, I love that Sticky so much I added a similar one to my own forum. I would love to have some support but feel like an old dumb noob. I could whip you up a pair of pants and shirt before you could to the laundry, but I can't get my brain around this.

Okay on to my question. Here is my site if it helps (I'm getting it set up to move to a new server this weekend)
http://sewingmamas.mooseclick.com/b/index.php

As you can see, I have installed vBadvanced. It looks great on my home page, but I cannot figure out how to customise it. I've tried to add pages, add modules to the homepage and what a template is or how to make one.

I have read everything I can find and used the manual here. I cannot figure out how to add modules or pages to my fourm.

For example, I downloaded the Cafe Press module and installed it exactly as explained. But nothing happened. When I tried to add a shop.php link there wasn't anything there.

We're moving our site over at the end of the week, and I'd like to add some pages, like links and some info pages. We are looking at purchasing photopost as well.

When I go to the instructions for adding a page or module, what I have is not what is listed in the user manual here:
http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersare...tid=4&pageid=2

If I go to Admin CP -> vBa CMPS ->

I get:
Default Settings
Edit Modules
Add Module
Edit Pages
Add Page
Download / Upload Module
Quick Permissions Editor

When I go to Add Module, I get:
Please select which type of Module you would like to add.
[BB Code]
[Template]
[PHP File]

I have no idea what to add or how to do it.

Is there a step by step I can follow? Or a newer user manual?

If you look on my page somehow I figured out how to add a links link on the left hand side, but it goes nowhere.

Thanks again!

Megan

Hi Megan,

a) go into your ftp program, goto your /forum folder and right click on the modules folder. Every FTP program is different, but look for properties. It should allow you to type in "777" or have a bunch of boxes that you can check off... check them all off and click okay. This will "chmod" the folder so you can upload to it from the web browser.

b) when adding modules, go to your vbadvanced menu and click on download/upload module. Select the module file you downloaded on your PC, check off hte options you want and you should be okay. Be sure to click yes to "update all pages"

As for custom pages...

1. Go to Add Page in the menu.
2. Choose your type. If you have html pages that your looking to copy over, use that option... otherwise, go with bbcode.

The rest should be straight forward from there I hope.

btw: I wasnt able to load your site but the url to yoru custom page should be something like this... just replace test with the name you picked.
