n00b question: how do i run a script

i was trying to install a hack from another forum but i was getting a error, but to fix this i need to run a script on my main page.

how do i do this, i know its a pretty n00bish question, but thats only because i havce just started php.

anyhelp will be great

They probaly mean, run a query. If that's the case, check out the tutorial forums. There is a tutorial on how to run queries.
