~ Make sure you change you DB access in ..\includes\config.php (Unless of course you are using the same DB)

~ If you are using phpMyAdmin.. Depending on the size of your DB you may have to chop it up into smaller pieces. It willonly accept 10MB max anyway, but chopping it up makes it quicker and also means if there is an issue you don't have to start all the way from the beggining.

~ Check your board links in your AdminCP > vBulltin options

1) if I use the same db name and pass I don't have to change this?
2) Before I transfer?

Download it, then go ahread and reduce the size, like make multiple small files of it. just make sure that you dont stop right in the middle of a table.

Look for something called bigdump I know a lot of people use that to move/restore large dbases. You could prolly also try impex having not had much use for it I cant tell you how it works but im pretty sure it would do the job.

Telnet access to new host would be the best way to restore a big dbase or you could just ask your host to do it for you.

You can't get in because of an error? or you don't know where it is?

Try to give a little more information with your posts.

Nice to hear the splitting method worked ;]
