Default Ip Address

Hi
how is it possible to set the IP address of a usergroup ??
I mean that all user of a certain group has the IP=xxx.xxx.xxx and this is the value stored in MySql database...
I've found out that $ipaddress is the variable with the ip and that the ip is stored in user and post table, but i know too little about Vbulletin and php coding to understand which is the right code and where must be inserted.
I've posted this question in other board too and I received any answer

Thanks a lot

cu

do you mean like sort of htaxx with db to limit axx to your site by ip range ?
cause if so there is already such hack on the forum, but it wil manage ip range per user and nor per usergroup.

No, it's more simple ;)
I've some people that do not want they ip is stored nor shown (!!) : so I need to understand where I must modify the code to obtain that a certain usergroup , let's call it USERNOIP, has ALWAYS the Ip set has 127.0.0.1 ..

thanks a lot

cu

check file named "class_postbit.php" found under /includes/.
@ line 764 you'll see this section:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
you can fix the lines so it will not display it for certain group.
hope this helps.

EDIT: this is code from 3.5.4.

This is my problem : all methods I've seen are to hide/show the ip but I want NOT to store it in the dbase...

Thanks

hmmm. not sure where it is exatly this data is stroed into db, but i guess i can do quick lookup for it.
if i'll find location i'll post it.

btw i don't see what does it matter if ip are logged but cannot be displayed. just make sure you secure your host & anything else won't matter. i once also wanted to even do entire encryption to all data on db, but after some discussion indeed came to conclusion there's no point for it.

The IP is stored in post and user tables in Mysql database : I do not know WHERE in the code there are the equivalent of insert into.. and update post SET .. 'cause they're realized in a way I do dot know

Thanks alot
cu
