Default Inserting a Link on the User CP menu

I'm rather new at vBulletin. A client wants me to add a script I wrote to his vbulletin board, but unfortunately he has an expired license and doesn't want to renew it. Thus, the tech forums at vbulletin.org have been rather unhelpful since it blocks all code to unlicensed users. I'm wondering if anyone here could give me some tips or point to some tutorials or part of the instruction manual on how to do the following:

(1) Add a link to the User CP under the Miscellaneous Section (I already found where to do this in the Admin CP with the Styles and Templates, but how would I go about adding a new phrase variables?)

(2) Create a new blank "module" which appears in the body I can just insert my script into.
