Default Importing a product changes a template

Is tehre any way to change a template when you import a product so instead of doing it manualy just importing the xml will do it?

a couple of examples:
Paul M's Mod for the who's in the chat - Flash chat
and
ShoutBox by Zero Tolerance.

Regards,
Nick.

only making new templates is possible.
i suppose you could get it to replace the template(the one that needs edited) with the new html code. But it's not wise as not every style is the same and not many users use the default template's.

so not really something anyone will do

Yeah but if you look at:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...7s+in+the+chat

That somehow adds code to the template with out changing it in any way....

ok what is done is to create another template and make it start at a point in forumhome

eg
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
this would be created in a php hook
hope that helps

ahh, so in my product i would add templates and plgins after that... what happens if the same line exists twice could you put a whole phrase in there like:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
That?

There are many ways to do it but not all hacks will be able to do it. If the template change is too complicated and varies greatly between styles then it will be very hard.

Paul M demonstrates how it can be done in the php code with his hack. I did it pretty well using DOM in my Mark Forum(s) Read hack.

many hacks wil need manual edits though.
