Default Help with plugin system

Hi, haven't been active here in a while, I've been pursuing just learning php instead of learning vB. Well now I'm back with a question (most of you probly don't even remember me cuse I didn't post that much in the first place anyway)

anyway, I am trying to get info from youtube through their RSS syndication service. I just need help with the plugin system.

First I have this as a plugin with the hook location of "member_complete"
You must first be a registered member to view any code.

then I have this as part of my "MEMBERINFO" template
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
when I do that nothing shows up where I have $titleyou as it should, maybe I am doing this wrong or something, I donu.

Anyway if someone could help me with that first, and then secondly I'd like to know how I would echo something like $userinfo[field38] in the plugin.

All help welcome!

Due to the fact it was an RSS feed I ended up using preg_replace:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
sample usage:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
ps. one mins to go I'll work on a preg_match version.

enh, I didn't need help with the php part soo much as I need help to see how to put it, (I already knew my code worked because I had it running on: this) but looking at your code did help me, because now I know I don't have to echo the variable I want shown, and I don't have to put the <?PHP ?> tags either. Anyway thanks for all your help, I got it working good. But I still would like to know how to say something like $userinfo[field38] also, because in the script I'd like to change x8dRWXbgvO0 to the php code for $userinfo[field38].

Thanks for all the help man (even though I ended up using an edited version of my code, because your code ended up taking stuff from the comments)

That's surprising because when I put your code in a php file on it's own the author field didn't work properly because there were comments.
