Default force new users to make a post in a certain forum?

is there anyway to force a newly registered user to make their first post in a particular forum before they can view any of the other forums?

I have an introduction lounge and i want users to actually introduce themselves when they join the board.

Set-up a promotion system where they have to have one post to be a register user, and with 0 posts there a "limited user" or something and block all other forums from being visible using forum permissions for those limited users.

Set-up an if condition in the forum description for usergroup = whatever the limited user group is.... and tell them they have to post here to gain access to the rest of the board, else just display regular forum description.

So something like: (not entirely sure to what the usergroup id command, I think it's that)
<if condition="$bbuserinfo[usergroupid]== limited user usergroupid">
<b> YOU MUST POST HERE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE REST OF THIS FORUM</b>
</if>
Regular description.

umm y do all that? make a new usergroup "noobs" or w/e, have it be the default one to join when new registrations. only allow it in that one forum. setup a auto-promotion in the more axx group "members"

The if statement allows New Members to see the message, but once you make the appropriate number of posts it disappears from that part of the forum. ;)

Does anyone have the exact if statement i would need for a dynamic description??

Im going to set this up and i want the description for the introduction forum to let users know they need to make a post in there before the other forums are visible, but once they can see the other forums i want the regular description to show.

BTW this setup would require member level promotions correct?

alright i setup this group, now how do i make sure that anyone who registers automatically is placed into this group??

For instance ,when they confirm their email to complete regitration, they are automatically put into the "Registered users" group.... when they should go in my "new members" group, and once they have made one post, they are promoted to the registered users group.

Could you re-name Registered Users, New Members and then make a new Registered Users group? Or did you already set the forum permissions for New Members?

i just deleted the new group i made.

I could rename registered users, and set the permission differently.
Then i guess i would set a promotion up to change them from registered users to a new group for this sort of thing.
