Default fopen problem

I've set up a forum using vbulletin 3.03, and I was just attempting to insert an avatar using a link from another webspace..I got the following error

You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Now that would suggest that I need to ask the host to allow this but, there is already a fully operative board on invision in a different dir at this webspace (we want to change to Vbulletin) . And at the invision board I have done the avatar thing with no problem, no fopen problem there!

So, is it in my PHP config for the vBulletin board somewhere? If so what do I need to change and where?

Thanks in advance..

Wookie

It doesn't matter what invision says as it uses a totally different system. allow_url_fopen is not setup to run on your host. You need to ask your hosting provider to make sure in the php.ini or conf whatever file he called it that it allows for such.

np if they won't find another hosting provider as it's not a huge security risk and they should allow it anyways.
