Default display avatar in header on all pages

i've been searching all over, but i haven't been able to find this. i did find a plugin "display avatar in navbar" which atleast lead me in the right direction.

it displays proper in the forum, but the dreaded red x in the gallery and cmps

here's the code i'm working with

You must first be a registered member to view any code.
i also have the welcome block from the navbar in the header too.

thanks much!

If it's a file edit you made for the modification, put the file edit at the end of global.php If it's a plugin that the modification made, change the plugin location to global_start ;)

I'm using this plugin by sabret00the:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=99498

To get it working on vBadvanced CMPS, $navbaravatar simply needs to be globalized and luckily the application comes included with a little tool that allows you to do exactly this! Go to the following location in your browser:
Admin CP -> vBa CMPS -> Default Settings

Scroll down the page slightly, and find the "Portal Output Global Variables" settings. Note that the description here states that the '$' before the variable name is NOT required, so simply enter navbaravatar there, hit "Save" and you should be good to go.
