Default Default avatar at the time of registration

I would like to put a code at the registration template, which sets the user a default avatar, so after registration, users who hasn't edit avatar yet have one. Can someone give me that code? Or another solution?

this is what you want.

just find a noavatar.gif file and upload it to your server.

this isnt my code....i found it somewhere on the net, but i dont know who wrote it or where.

if you dont like the border around the avatar in the users public profile, edit memberinfo template, look for the code to this hack and change the border:1px to 0px

uhmmm.. the code appears to work fine but it in fact don't not works the way I wish
In fact, it don't add avatar for users, just edit these templates: postbit, meminfo. How could I know that? In member list, their avatars is not showed!

BigJohnny, you are a coder, right? I'm not, so although I tried to look for the code of adding avatar for member in modifyavatar template, but couldn't make out what that code is.

I think that code is not too complicated. Just put the noavatar.gif with a radio button below at the registration template, so when user click "Complete registration", they have a avatar IN FACT.

John, could u please..

you need to find a noavatar.gif image and upload it to your server.
If the user does NOT select an avatar, then this gives them an avatar by default.....and it looks for noavatar.gif if they do select an avatar, then it shows there selected avatar instead of the default avatar.

of all the default avatars ive seen, i havent yet seen them show up in the memberlist, though i think it could be added to the member list.
Im going to look into adding it to the member list ..... but i dont think there is anything i can do about a radio button.
im not that great of a coder

This is the BEST i can do for you with the member list.
Appreciate it cause i messed with this for 30 mins trying to get it to work right

In Template Memberlist_resultsbit
FIND AND REMOVE
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
REPLACE IT WITH THIS - Modify the section in red to point to the path of your noavatar.gif
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
I THINK this will properly display that noavatar.gif in the member list if the user has NOT selected an avatar of their own, if they have selected an avatar, then it will show the avatar they have selected.
