Join Date: Oct 2004 Real Name: Jim McClain Location: teh Ether | Changing attachment thumbnail size causes problems | | I used to have thumbnails created at 350px wide (allowing the upload of images 750px max) and then changed them to 750px wide. It seemed to go fine. Then a few members were having horizontal scroll bars because they still have smaller resolutions. So, I decided to change the thumbnail size to 600, but I didn't do Rebuild Attachment Thumbnails.
When a member wondered why he couldn't upload a 640x480px image, I checked my settings. He should be able to upload any image up to 750px either dimension and 146kb, but the image will be reduced to a thumbnail no larger than 600px. That wasn't happening.
So I did the Rebuild Attachment Thumbnails, but it keeps stalling. I delete the image and it stalls again. I deleted about 10 images and stopped. I don't want to delete that many images and I don't know why it's forcing me to do that.
I have backups. Is there something I can do to get the system to allow 750px image uploads and 600px thumbnails without having to delete dozens or even hundreds of images to Rebuild Attachment Thumbnails?
Thank you,
Jim
