Default 2 quick reply problems, please help.

ok first problem. My quick reply textarea has gotten smaller by a bit and i dont know why, it doesnt go all the way over to the edge of the frame it is in.(see attached image)
The template is original (showthread_quickreply), so i dont know whats caused this. I would like to fix it because it honestly bothers me

Second, I have installed a smilie in quick reply hack, and for some reason i cannot get the smilie box to show up in that space beside the text area...
If i write the word "test" in that area, it shows up in that space (the one i want to fix above) but if i put the smilie code in the exact same spot, the smilie box shows up below the text area.

It looks like that whole is where your smilies should be. is that where the test will show up?

well thats where i want to put the smilies, and the reason for that is because of this error.
I figured adding smilies there would be the perfect way to cover that up

Probably one of the mods you installed left a bit of code there.

i went through my showthread_quickreply, and reverted it, it is original.
I may have installed minimagic toolbar on my main forum i cant remember... But i also went through its template edits and i didnt have any of the code on my forum, there are no phrases left behind after i removed it..... and i dont know exactly when this problem turned up.

so i cant even think of what would do it.

ok i know whats causing it.... its the attachment thing.

Its an attachment in quick reply hack.... but i added some more file extensions to my attchment options in admincp, and it made that table longer.

Where would i look to fix that up? just that little attachment section there.....
and/or how can i make the <textarea> longer for that message box?

i don't know this specific hack you you've installed you're talking about, but for general html, the <textarea> tags got ROWS="" & COLS="" options.
so you sould try to set "cols" size to make it wider.

also check for any <input> (type="hidden") that might be there inside any <td> (if any).
i came across in the past where those could leade sometimes to some spacing, though not as big as in your screenshot, but worths checking as well.

the space is caused by the frame below it, with the attachment options.
that long string of extensions pushes the table wider, and for some reason it affects the width of the table surrounding the textarea.
