Default Welcome Back! - New postbit change

Hey everyone!

If you havn't already noticed we did some changing to the postbit. The staff post are now more defined then before, and we changed the normal members post look alittle aswell. We're still working on a few changes to the postbit, so expect a few small things changed in the future.

One thing I would like to know, is what you guys think. If you have any suggestions on what we could add/remove/change please let us know so we can review the suggestions and possiable implement them. Also, if you notice any bugs with the postbit; please let us know so we can fix it right away. The best place to post a bug is the bug tracker or the Site Feedback forum.

Happy Posting!

I don't care for the "Profile | Message | +Buddy" menu under each message. One, it gets redundant within a thread, as usually the same person will have multiple posts in a thread. Also, it clutters the thread... visually disrupting the "conversation", if that makes sense. I think it would be better, if you really want such a menu, to put it on the right or left of the post, rather than between them. The "homepage" link should have "target=_blank" so that it does not navigate off-forum.

I also don't care for the "No Avatar" avatar. If I don't want an avatar, don't provide one for me... just leave it blank!

Don't like it.

The staff member avatars hang 2 pixels below that background thingy, which itself looks daft (4 plusses?).

The blue bar at the top and bottom against the white background doesn't so much split up the posts as pulls your eyes all over the place, esp. when combined with urls.
Also the staff background blue pulls your eyes over there too and even worse it only extends part way. So each staff post has a blue, a blue, a grey, a white and a blue.

I can see why the Profile et al links are at the bottom but since 99% of visitors own vb, it seems a bit daft to deviate from the normal dropdown and as tgreer says, it's cluttered.

It looks nicer and a bit more professional, but at the cost of the fact it deviates from the norm, has too many colours and is cluttered.
As with everything it's something people will get used to but on first look, I'm not keen.

Well I have to run for now. The 2 pixels were done intentional. The profile fields are now an option in the usercp. If you don't want to show the profile images, check it to no.

I'll be back tonight to see this thread and make some changes as we see fit.
