They are also stupid to have both sites on one server

when one site is down, so is the other

people cant even run to the alternate to find out why one is down .

Putting all their eggs in one basket, not sensible.......

I have to agree with this. Now I can understand them trying to save money by putting all the official vBulletin sites on one server, but everytime a DDoS attack or hardware fails all the official sites are down. You can't get official support when every last official site is down. All this does is give them a bad image as Reeve of Shinra said because new users who really don't understand how forum software works think the downtime is related to vBulletin's software.

I knew vb.com and .org shared a server but I didnt realize until today that the other official sites shared the server as well. D'oh!

That is exactly my thought.

It doesn't instill much confidence in new users/members...

The length of time it has been down is a bit ridiculous for a for profit company with a large userbase that has recuring subscriptions. Seems to me money isn't allocated well. You get what you pay for in life and quality hosting and expedient service is a good investment for any online business.

They've been down for a long time now. Bad timing for me as I just bought a new vB license and want to add a couple of mods to it.
