Default Rule Changes for FXP support

As of today vBhackers.com will not be supporting FXP related hacks anymore. This change has been something the staff and myself have been talking about for quite some time, and we feel that this change will help the community grow stronger, attract new users, and even new coders. Remember, new coders means new unreleased hacks you won't be able to find anywhere else. ;)

Now I do understand alot of the users come here to download FXP hacks for there site, but this has created a bad reputation for vBHackers.com. I never intended for this site to be known as a place to download FXP hacks. My intentions where to create a friendlier environment for any board owner or admin to receive great support, no matter the skills the user has with running a board, or even with PHP coding.

I'm asking everyone to please keep all your FXP hacks private and off the boards. The staff will be keeping a close eye on all post, and will be issuing warnings if such FXP post are created. After warnings, we will have no choice but to ban users if they don't comply with this rule. We really don't think we will have to take it that far, at least we hope not. Banning isn't something I enjoy doing, but I'm sure you all can understand why we will if you don't follow the rules. Your all board owners, and know exactly what I mean.

Now the big question.... What about ShavedApes FXP hack? I know alot of you are waiting for v2 to come out, though due to the change of rules this hack will not be released here. You can find more information about this hack via IRC on efnet in channel #fpack-v2. Please don't PM ShavedApe about the hack, he is busy enough. You can ask question via there IRC chan I mentioned above.

I'm sure alot of members will want to comment on this, and I don't mind at all. Just remember to keep all posting within the rules, and please don't let this turn into a flame war. I thank all the users who have supported vBHackers.com and hope you will continue to support us. Remember, just because this rule is in effect, doesn't mean the friendly support will vanished, it should only improve! ;)

Was bound to happen ;) Not the worst decision since afterall(not the irc network :p ), it attracts unwanted people and unneeded complications.

Keep up the good work/support

wow after all this time the best source for fxp related hacks and many other great hacks is just gonna drop one of the one of the most popular things in here. sad to see it happen i personaly dont see how having less content is going to attract new coders and more hacks as they are welcome now are they not ? but anyways all in all its your guys choice im just stating my opinion based on useing vbulletin.org and your site alot that was the main difference between the to now i see it as theres not alot of reason to come here as it will be just like vbulletin.org anyways thanks for the long time of great hacks
peace

Agreed... I have no idea what an FXP hack is. I think I know what FXP is, remote-to-remote file transfer, right?
