| | Better Management of Forum Filters | | I have a board with over 100 forums in about 15 categories.. Do we HAVE to have that many forums? Probably not, but anyway, we do, and so we have this problem:
Users need a way to 'block' boards they dont want to see in the forum index, or when the click the 'view new posts' button. We currently do this using the exclude forums hack over at vb.org.
However we have a lot of boards, so we are looking for an easier way to manage forum filters. Say for example I have a member that out of 100 forums, there are only 3 she ever really visits/reads/cares about. Instead of going to the hack and having to process the excluding of 97 boards, she'd rather be able to just go and pick her 3 favorite boards, 'subscribe' to those boards, and then only view those boards when she sees the forum index, and just see those posts when she clicks the 'view new posts' button.
It needs to be an easy to use interface, esp. geared towards newer forum users - maybe with a way to default all of them to
Show ALL
or
Hide ALL
and then a checkbox or something for them to look at a list of the boards, and mark the ones they want to see. or, mark the ones they dont, depending on which category they have more of..
