What? The way is once you have 8 hacks for example then you'll have to wait for more people to come along and press install and the same with a master coder you have to wait. I don't get why the more hacks you post your the worse off??? You may have attempted to explain your logic but it sounds seriously flawed to me :p

Yes, it gets harder and harder the more hacks you post. Ofcourse you don't get penalized, that'd mean we'd start off as a master coder and slowly go back to coder the more hacks you post :p

If 1 hack equals 10 installs, then 8 hacks should equal 80, and 15 hacks should equal 150! The more hacks you post here the worse you're off, and no, the answer is not to increase 10 installs for one hack

.
Actually, it's just that the rate goes up. It's not always going to be just as easy, the rate goes up according to the different levels.

The more hacks you post you're not worse off, it's just not all a matter of installs.

Don't look now but that statement contradicts itself ;)

penalize |pen`il`eyez; | verb
• put in an unfavorable position or at an unfair disadvantage

It makes it much harder to progress to the next level. How is that not worse off?

If there were more active members it might be a little different, but with only 1,100 active members it makes it progressively harder and harder to advance. It's just not a rational way to determine levels.

i suppose there is that, were vborg have several thousand active members it stands to reson that the aim should be lower for vbhackers (but don't change the advanced coder title) maybe just make master coder 750 installs and guru 1000 installs. Sounds better.

Exactly

The bottom line is do you want to encourage coders to post their hacks here... or at .org?

If they post more than one hack here they are getting progressively shortchanged the more hacks they post. vB.org has over TEN TIMES the active member pool (11,521) as compared to vBHackers (1,152). That's not an opinion, it's all in the numbers, and math doesn't lie ;)

xD, true :p, the only problem with changing the system is that it would be a lower standard, You can now say your an advanced coder and thats even more of an achievement than if you were at vborg. So for that reason i would vote in favour of keeping it how it is.
