Having had a hack with 1500 posts on vBORG I can tell you it is a nightmare. Well, It is if you actually support your work.

It compounds on itself as the thread becomes unbearable to read. People refuse to read through it, naturally, and then ask the same thing over and over again. Though I have little tolerance for those that won't read the first post, I can understand the obstacle to reading a 1500 post thread. Which leaves the author with the choice of extra work finding the answer for them, answering it all over again, or just ignoring it or being rude. Not a fun prospect especially when you see the special treatment that some hacks get in their own forum. ;)

Yeah, understandable. We're not sure yet on how we're going to implement it, but the hack poster will at the very least have the option to request deletion of posts.

With the new system, this should prevent that from happening. As a single mod/hack will have a more hierarchical system.

There will be a bug system for each hack. If a user thinks there is a bug, or is getting an error. He can report it there. If a user wants a feature added to the hack, they will have there own area to request features and let other members talk about it.

Then the comment system will be in place to, for all the thanks and great job post. :p Of course as the author you will be able to move these post from one section to another and the ability to close bugs and feature request. Deleting a post from any section is being talked about now. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Thats a great idea, it's going to keep things so clean and easy to navigate.

Looks nice. I feel this site will soon overthrow vb.org in its quality and overall organization. Which is, somewhat, a good thing.

It's all part of our plan for world domination.
