Default What Web Hosting Company Do You Use?

Hi everyone.

We've put together a listing of web hosts at URL removed and are asking for vBulletin Users to post reviews of the hosts they have used.

We hope this will become a great resource for vBulletin Forum Owners when they are looking for a host. Users will be able to look up hosts that have been reviewed by other vBulletin owners and read the positive and negative reviews and see how other vB owners feel about that web hosting company.

Please take a minute and post a review of your webhost, good or bad, or, if they are not listed, please feel free to add yours. HERE: URL removed.

We appreciate your action to help the vBulletin community, but as link posting by guests is not allowed, this is advertising for your site more than anything else.

If you want feedback of this community they can post in this thread sothat you can add them to your links directory, enable guest link posting, or provide a 'test' account.

The idea is that users can post their experiences with various web hosts, good and bad, so that when someone else is looking for a host, they can read the reputation of various hosts. As such, the credibility of the poster is important. None of your suggestions will lend credibility to such a listing.

So what your saying is that your post was intended to blatently advertise and gain new members to your site. The views of members posting here would be useless if they dont join your site ;)

Good topic but the topic doesnt seem to be the actual topic of this thread. maybe I can get this in topic lol I looked here for what hosting people here used but the link doesnt give me much of that.

I have had many host over the past several years I currently use fluxservices.com but that when change when I plan on starting our internet radio station since Flux doesnt support any type of streaming by clients. So I will be looking for another host before long.

As for the Flux service they are not too bad at all, been down for a few mins one time price isnt too bad either but I have had better and cheaper with larger hosting plans.

Hmmm, well not exactly.

Your missing the whole point here. Ive seen a thousand threads on various boards that ask "who should I host with" or "How is this web hosting company" -- It wouldnt have credibility if I made all the posts now would it? The point is to have varied opinions from various vB Owners, since they know best how web hosts are.

I am merely trying to put together a listing of the best hosts for vBulletin (cost aside) as seen by other vBulletin owners. All in one place and credible.

Thats the entire focus of our board - helping th vBulletin owner manage and run their forum, make money from it, get it rankng highly in the search engines, things like that. Just as the focus of your board here is the creation of hacks. Hell, there is even a link from my homepage to here because I think this is a good resource for vBulletin owners, and thats part of what we are about, being a resource for vB Owners.

In other words, we dont compete. Maybe you could take a look at my site and see that. Hell, if you came over and posted that you have a great hack, and linked back here, I wouldnt care. Again, we're about being a resource for vBulletin Owners. If my offering a resource to your members is a problem, then just let me know.

Not missing the point at all I completely understand the topic of the thread its your methods I question. Not for me to say if its a problem or not that you post links to your site but my personal opinion is that’s the only reason so far you have posted anything.
Out of 4 threads posted by you only one does not contain links back to your site. So you’ll forgive me if I’m reluctant to believe that you intended anything else with this thread.
As for me visiting your site. I already did from the first thread you posted.

I understand what you claim was the purpose of this thread but by completely ruling out the idea that users could post there views etc here in this thread I remain skeptical of its reasons.

Dont get me wrong I think your site is a good idea and im sure some members here will find it very usefull. Im also sure that LiveWire appreciates the link back to this site. Im just not willing to believe there was no ulterior motive behind this thread especially when you felt the need to provide the link twice within the space of about 3 sentences.
This is however my view not the view of vbhackers, its staff or of the admins.

OK, so my question becomes - what does anything else matter then? If you think its a good idea, and potentially a good resource for vBulletin, then what do the motives matter? I have to assume your in favor of letting people know something may be of benefit to them, and since it doesnt compete with this forum, but compliments it, then what else matters?

Very simple answer to that one. Had you taken the time to perhaps PM an admin or member of staff to ask if you could promote your site here im sure something could of been done. As it is your motives for this thread still remain clear to me and where nothing more than a blatent atempt at breaching the rules about advertising.
Again this is my opinion.
Wether or not I think your site is a good idea isnt really an issue here its the way you choose to promote it thats in question.
Shall we make an attempt to keep this thread on topic nowor would you like to continue this pointless discussion?

You began this "pointless discussion"

And honestly, your opinion in this matter isnt terribly important to me. Im not here to convince you of my motives. My site is 'promoted' via my signature, as is yours. My motive was not to 'promote; my site but to offer something of value to your members, and perhaps get them to contribte to the hosting company reviews so other vB owners could benefit as well.

Dont you have better things to do then argue a pointless topic? I know I do. And to be honest, Ivve grown weary of trying to explain myself to you. Yopu clearly dont want to believe my intentions. SO, what is the point of my debating this further.

Have a nice day.
