Default Vista

Vista; a hot topic at the moment.

What do you think of it?

From my experience I can give only one recommendation; NEVER install Sky Anytime :p. I find the side bar is quite handy, especially the CPU/RAM Usage moniter.

I think it's a joke :p Half of their so-called 'new' features have been on OS X for years ;)

I agree, down with vista

most of this "wow" from Vista is just a shiny version of XP media. nothing has changed other then you need more RAM to make all the pretty stuff run ;)

The only way I would buy Vista, is if I get a new PC.. Even then, the Mac's are much nicer for what I use my computer for ;)

...and sometimes a new videocard  The funniest part is that you add the price of vista, the new memory, and the videocard all together and you could buy a new Mac that comes with OS X (Leopard) that would blow the doors off of vista :p

Wait till Leopard comes out in a month or so. Now THAT'S going to be a nice operating system

Core Animation is going to rock!

That UAC is becoming damn annoying. And it brings back memories of Doom 3 .

As said before, all Vista has changed is some visual changes and some features that eat up to 1GB memory RAM.
There are not enough drivers, games, programs, etc. to work properly with it, so down with this piece of junk...

It's crap:

you need more ram
you need a better pc in general
almost no decent drivers available, not even decent generic drivers
once again an investment in an os, that you are forced upon the day you'll need directx10
UAC, was the first crap that went off, also all "style' modifications (mine still looks like win98 :p )
Day 1 gave me a blue screen, they could at least have changed the colour for a change to red or so, at least people would know they changed something in that case
FF still outclasses IE
mediaplayer stays crap and microsofts now try to make other soft look like crap too

Need I go on? Actually was planning to formatting my drive today and reinstall xp but didn't have enough free time to do all the settings that I would have to go through again as my ghostcd has been scratched

It's a somewhat pitty that 80% of current XP users will be using it or Windows Vienna in 5 years time.

no they wont, Ms will have to put out something that is better within 5 years.. I'd compare this vista to ME.. it was crap when it came out too ;)

MS dropped the ball big time on this one ;)

again I agree with Col, something going fishy huh..lol

Mac is the way to go, at least for me it is.. since I don't have the time to play games and thats the only advantage that a PC would have over apple..
