If vb.org is for showing what is possible with vb then it fails miserably. Any new customer to vb would think it looks like its run by some kids..Just my opinion but i thought i was at some kids site and not a professional organisations sister site...
Either keep it the same as vb.com or go the whole hog and add all the whistles and bells..

Unless vBulletin.org gets a full paid staff on board (possible paying the current administrators), Your chances of having the whistles and bells are almost nothing. Who can blame them though? Jelsoft doesn't seem to take any pride in vBulletin.org, so why should anyone else?

Just my $0.02. ;)

vb.org is not designed for that purpose, it is a place to obtain modifications, not 'be' modified to death.

Run by kids ? well I guess you are entitled to your opinion, I'm sure you can explain what you mean.

Ok so its not for showing what vb can do maybe they need a demo site where the top hacks of the month are installed? Just so newbs can see them working.
As for thinking i was at a kids site that was the first thought that went through my head!!!
I logged on went to vb.org and "Vb.org has been hacked by some kids was my first thought" lol....now I'm used to it i don't see it that way, but some new customers might if they think like me!!!
So probably one customer in every 2 billion he he he...
After getting used to it i like it better this way. Change is always controversial and confusing on sites people get used to thats all...

I think what ken was really getting at was the fact that you don't get paid to do what you do (if that makes sense), and i'm sure most of you don't have every minute of the day free. So why should you bust a gut to get a forum up and running with all the mods & styles etc. While Jelsoft themselves don't seem to be bothered about the site.

I agree. Like Toonmaster said, the first time that I saw the new skin I thought my browser had been hijacked and I was sent to some kids site. I am certain that we aren't the only two people that had that thought run through our heads the first time we saw the site. It certainly doesn't look professional, but then maybe they want to focus on the teenager market, in which case they're off to a good start. Those were my first honest reactions to the changes made. It wasn't until I checked the URL that I realized it was still vb.org and they had changed the skin. Sometimes new however is not always better. I think this has to do more with Jelsofts lack of initiative than .orgs though. Just my $0.02. ;)

I don't think it looks like a "kids site" at all.

but then again, what are you calling a kid ? I was listening to a podcast last night and seen the owner of wordpress is only 22, 23 this month. WP has been around a few years that I know of, so I'm sure this guy was a teen-ager when he first made WP.

These "kids" can still do some amazing stuff ;)
