This thread is not substantiated because the networks are not interconnected. Therefore, the best messenger is the one which most of the people in your local community are using. Which, in my case, is AIM.

I'm not an IM type person though I do use a few to collaborate with some people but my favourite is Gtalk. Yahoo is an absolute resource hog imo.

MSN is very nice, my favorite messenger, but I use aim the most, because thats what everyone else uses...

I voted for AIM because most of my friends use that, although I would have selected Trillian if it were an option. I do like MSN and keep that separate from Trillian. Their character limit can be annoying though.
