I think this would be better suited in the graphics area.

Just an observation though, You seem to have large gaps inbetween many of the parts of the image. Blending would come at the latter stages where you would apply and implement the brush work/highlights shading and so forth. Me personally, I would refine the jaggy edging by spending a little more time appplying anchor points and manipulating the curves and bends by adjust the anchors where applicable. As a rule, vectoring should never (or should never) have vast rough edging and there's no reason why you shouldn't retain a high quality vectored image.

You are using the pen tool right?

It needs alot of tweaking to give the edges a smoother more refined edge.

You don't want to rasterize the layers especially when vectors always retain it's clarity and don't suffer from quality loss. I'd advise by building up the layers (to add shadowing, reflections etc) so add layes upon laters for these elements and if need be you can alwaus implement brushing to finetune certain areas.

Another bit of advice, The eyedropper tool is an invaluable tool to ensure that you use the appropriate colours and that elements compliment each layer you will add throughout this portrait.
