Default Developing a site and need advice

Hi

I am 1 of several people in charge of developing a site and integrating the site into the forum.

1 thing we are doing is during registration (on the site) their details are put into a temporary table I created (we only want people we authorise to actually get onto the forum db). Once they have been authorised we will simply move their details over to the users table.

1 problem I have is I can't seem to find where the vb code validates username, passwords and email address etc. I wish to use vb's so that I do not have to check them myself.

I have looked through register.php and found the form fields that are required and I of course collect these details in my custom form. If there anything else I may need to collect or is it ok for the rest of the fields to be of a default value.

The process for registration is as follows:-

Person uses a form on our site to register.
Details put into temp table.
Person checked into.
If ok transferred to the proper users table (trying to limit who gets into the users table).

1 thing that would make it easier is to know where vb validates the username, password, email so that I can either use the functions/class or to copy the functionality.

Also I have created the form with the required registration form fields, is there anything I need to know regarding the other database entries that I may have overlooked or can everything else be set as a standard registration would be. Also is it only the users table that is affected when a person registers or are any other tables affected?

You can have the forum, set so every new registration is put into a moderation queue in the admincp.

You would need to use the User Data Manager not just a record into the user table.

I wouldn't put the info in another table, just simply do with Toon suggested ;)
You can set this so only Admins can see the users in moderation
