ATTACHMENT REMOVED

What this does
This will allow you as the admin to set a time limit till a thread is considered expired or in otherwords Auto Close. If the thread happens to be expired, the user will see a error message. But a staff member (ie, mod, sup-mod, and admin) can unexpire the thread by posting in it, then the counter will start over again. This will prevent those anoyying thread digger members we all seem to dislike.

Installation
I created a very powerful install script to handle everything! So all you have to do is upload the install script and run it! Please read the readme file before you do anything. There are some notes in there so you can understand a new feature i added that is not in the vB3.0.7 version of mine.

Existing Users
If your using this hack for vB 3.0.x. No worries, my installer will detect it and upgrade it properly.

Support
My hacks are free, and all my hacks will have a simlar installer for easy installation/uninstallation/upgrader. Other then the small 2 line file edit in the admincp/forum.php. This hack installs itself and you do nothing but click next. I put alot of time into this hack and will so with the rest of mine. That being said, please click the install button if you want support!

Features
  • You can enable/disable for any forum you want
  • X Days till thread is considered expired
  • Optional feature to hide quickreply, show thread closed button and lockedicon on your forumsdisplay. Screenshot should better explaine it all.
To do list...
  • Time to install: 3 minutes
  • Queries to run: 2
  • File Mods: 1
    • /admincp/forum.php
  • Templates to edit: 0
  • Templates to add: 0
  • New Phrases: 3
  • New Plugins: 4

Please post bugs and errors here. Hope you like, feedback welcomed!

Nice I'll be installing tonight. Just one of the many items I've been searching for.

I've looked all over for this mod! I don't know why I had such a hard time finding it but glad I did. I've had members posting to threads that were more than 2 years old. Now I won't have to worry about someone posting to an old out dated thread.

This mod would be brilliant if you were able to specify a specific close date for each thread that you post in a particular forum.

if I put in .5 will it close the thread in 12 hours? or less? something to that effect? I basically want it to close immediately after posting in one particular forum

I'm going to close the attachments for this hack untill I look at the problem. I'm going to be away for a few days, so I'll look at it when I get back. For now I'll delete the attachment.
